A community music group has donated funds to a homeless charity.
The West Norfolk Wind Orchestra's (WNWO) inaugural concert proceeds were given to the Purfleet Trust, a charity supporting the homeless in King's Lynn.
The group is part of West Norfolk Academies Trust Community Music Initiative, led by Robin Norman, director of music at both West Norfolk Academy Trust (WNAT) and WNAT member Springwood High School.
Mr Norman said: “Each concert member of WNWO nominates charities for proceeds to be given to, and the members vote based on those nominations.
“On this occasion the members felt it appropriate to donate to the Purfleet Trust to assist with their valuable work in the West Norfolk community.
“The money will be used by the Purfleet Trust to aid with the great work they do in helping homeless people in the King’s Lynn and West Norfolk areas.”
The funds came from ticket sales at the orchestra’s 'Festive Overture' event last year.
Mr Norman presented the cheque at a rehearsal, before their next performance which will benefit another cause.
