A pre-planning document has been submitted asking for advice on converting a pub building into flats.
A pre-application request for advice has been submitted to North Norfolk District Council for the potential plans involving the Blue Boar Inn at Great Ryburgh.
It has been submitted by Claxton Hall Architectural working as the agent on behalf of the applicant.
The planning page has no documents, just a title for it which says: “Conversion of inn and associated buildings to residential flats, demolish some latter additions and two semi-detached dwellings to car park.”
It is not yet known if this would lead to a formal planning application being submitted.
The building is now running as a bed and breakfast with its website saying: “The Blue Boar Inn is now a boutique bed and breakfast, with the option of evening dining and a licensed bar (exclusively for residents). We are temporarily closed to the general public.”
News of the pre-application request for advice filtered through to the Friends who like Great Ryburgh's Facebook page with opinions over the proposal being split.
One person said: "Changing it into flats would be a loss to the village."
While another said: "Nothing wrong with that is there?"
