King Charles III sought solace at Sandringham after he was diagnosed with cancer.
Now the monarch looks set to continue his recuperation elsewhere, as his Norfolk retreat gets set to reopen to the visitors.
Parts of Sandringham house, along with its gardens and St Mary Magdalene Church, will be open again from Saturday, March 23.
The properties are normally closed when members of the Royal Family are in residence - suggesting the King and Queen do not plan to return to Sandringham over the coming weeks.
The King flew to Norfolk in early February, following his first bout of treatment, after it was announced for the first time he was suffering from an as-yet undisclosed form of the disease.
Buckingham Palace said the illness had been discovered by doctors who were treating the 75-year-old monarch for a benign prostate condition.
It was also announced that Charles III would be stepping down from public duties.
The first engagement in His Majesty's diary was today, when he was due to attend a service at Westminster Abbey marking the 75th anniversary of the Commonwealth.
While other leading royals attended including Queen Camilla, the Prince of Wales and the Princess Royal, the King delivered an address by video, in which he reflected on "the remarkable journey" the Commonwealth has made since its inception in 1949.
He concluded: "In recent weeks, I have been most deeply touched by your wonderfully kind and thoughtful good wishes for my health and, in return, can only continue to serve you, to the best of my ability, throughout the Commonwealth."
The video is understood to have been recorded at Windsor Castle, where the King has also been spending time.
It is not yet known whether the King will be attending the Sandringham Flower Show, which is one of his favourite events, in July.
