A man who entered the country illegally has been remanded in prison accused of being involved in the supply of more than eight kilos of cannabis.
Albanian national Klodian Hililaj, 26, was denied bail and told he must remain in custody after appearing at Norwich Magistrates’ Court.
Josephine Jones, prosecuting, said it was alleged he had been found with a huge haul of 8.6kg of cannabis, estimated to be worth more than £80,000, after being arrested in Great Yarmouth on March 6.
Hililaj, who gave no address and spoke through an interpreter, entered no plea to a charge of possession with intent to supply.

The court was told he had entered the country illegally and had no official status as he is not claiming asylum.
Ms Jones said the allegations meant it fell outside the jurisdiction of the court as, if proved, it carried a starting point of four years in prison.
Magistrates declined jurisdiction saying his trial was “too serious to be heard by this court”.
He was told he would remain on remand until a plea and preparation hearing at Norwich Crown Court scheduled for April 5.
