A bodybuilding UEA student who had been taking steroids assaulted his ex-girlfriend after finding her with a new partner.
Alastair Simpson, 20, flew into a rage after barging his way into student accommodation in the early hours injuring one woman with the door in the process.
Norwich Magistrates’ Court heard he had confronted the pair after running to an upstairs bedroom where he pushed his ex-girlfriend to the floor and punched the fellow student she was with.
Sarah Fiddy, prosecuting, said the first-year biological science student had also accused his ex of still owing him money and at one stage had threatened to send pictures to her family.

Simpson, who gave an address on the UEA campus in Norwich, pleaded guilty to three counts of assault and criminal damage after he threw an Xbox games console out of the upstairs window.
In a statement read in court his former girlfriend said the attack on December 5 had left her scared to sleep at night and had affected her business studies.
The second woman, a healthcare student, said they had been forced to install extra security measures.
“I’m not normally a nervous person but I now fear being home alone,” she added.
Andrew Spence, mitigating, said his “insecurities had mounted” following the break-up of the relationship and that he had "seen the red mist”.

“He had unwisely started to take steroids as part of a bodybuilding programme and that altered his mood,” he said.
While initially intending to just confront his former girlfriend he had ended up in a “very agitated and angry state”.
“He is sorry about his conduct and about how he dealt with the situation,” said Mr Spence.
Magistrates gave him bail on condition not to contact the victims or visit a property on Colman Road in Norwich.
He will be sentenced on April 24.
