Young performers are poised to star in the musical, School of Rock.

B&B Young People’s Theatre Group's performers have spent months in preparation for the annual musical being held at the Players Theatre, Lowestoft.

School of Rock, based on the cult classic, features Dewey Finn, an aspiring rock star, who after being cast out by his bandmates finds himself impersonating a substitute music teacher at an elite preparatory school.

Through his role, he introduces his pupils to the world of rock legends.

This year's production will feature 14 new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber, alongside original works from the movie, all performed by a group of talented youngsters.

The B&B Young People’s Theatre Group will have an eight show from April 2-7.

This production has an all female creative team, including the co-directors Fay Bishop, 25, and Bethan Roscoe, 27, choreographer Cerys Roscoe, 25, and co-musical directors Rebecca George-Broom, 39, and Francesca Warren, 26.

Co-director Fay Bishop said: “The cast have really given this show their all.

“I think it’s fair to say that everyone involved has had great fun perfecting their characters at rehearsals.

"The show is going to be amazing.”

Choreographer Cerys Roscoe, said: “I’m certain that audiences will just love this production and be in awe of the incredible talent on stage.

"I’m so proud to be part of it.”

The School of Rock does contain occasional strong language and may not be suitable for very young children.

Last year, the B&B Young People’s Theatre Group production of Matilda the Musical was a complete sell-out, so early booking this year is strongly recommended.
