The Met Office has warned that Norfolk could see a period of cold weather, snow and "wintery hazards" in the forecast for March.

After February brought the wettest and warmest weather on record many in Norfolk are hoping for a dryer March.

However, with snow hitting parts of the UK over the weekend, Norfolk is set to see colder wet weather with crisp, frosty mornings.

The region should expect unsettled weather until the second half of the month.

In the second stage, the forecast predicts blocking patterns (where high and low-pressure meet) which will provide more continuous weather conditions.

Towards the end of the month, the Met Office has warned that winds from the north and east will bring down cold Scandinavian air with the chance of snowfall hitting Norfolk.

A Met Office spokesman said: "There is a chance later in the month that snow and wintery hazards may reach Norfolk after being brought over from the North Sea.

"Temperatures are set to reach near and below zero Celsius."
