A 26-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a man in his 80s was stabbed in the neck.
Police were called to Hockwold, between Thetford and Downham Market, just before 9am on Thursday.
The victim, who has been named locally as Mervyn Moulton, was initially taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in King's Lynn, but was later transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he remains.

A man in his 20s, who was known to Mr Moulton, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Ashley Francis, aged 26 and of Whittington Hill, King’s Lynn, has now been charged with attempted murder.
He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on Saturday.
