Army bomb disposal teams were called to a suspicious object that forced part of a beach to be closed.
HM Coastguard closed off an area at Hunstanton after the object was found.
The metal object was found on the beach at 12.55pm on Thursdayy and Coastguard crews set up a cordon.
Authorities believed it to be a UXB (unexploded ordnance bomb), a device that has been primed, fused, armed or prepared for use in an armed conflict, but failed to detonate.
Teams from the army bomb disposal unit in Colchester arrived at the scene around 1.15pm.
Crews examined the object and conducted several tests before confirming it was harmless.
The cordons were taken down and the beach reopened just before 2pm today.
