A man has appeared in court accused of breaching a position of trust to carry out a series of sexual assaults on a young teenage girl.

Ben Atkins, 32, is charged with seven offences in Norwich between 2017 and 2019 on a girl aged as young as 14.

The charges involve allegations that he touched a 15-year-old girl’s naked breasts on at least three occasions between 2018 and 1019.

He is also accused of abusing his position of trust when engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old, said to involve oral sex in a fitness suite and in a car.

Other allegations include sexually touching a 14-year-old on at least five occasions between 2017 and 2019 and touching the bottom and breasts of a 15-year-old on multiple occasions in 2018 and 2019.

Appearing at Norwich Magistrates’ Court, Atkins, from Carlton Colville, near Lowestoft, pleaded not guilty to all seven charges.

Magistrates formally declined jurisdiction after hearing the charges were too serious for theory powers.

Atkins was given conditional bail pending a pre-trial hearing at Norwich Crown Court on March 15.
