A woman who made dozens of false calls to police did so after developing “irrational fears” over the welfare of her pet dog, a court heard.
Anne Egglestone, 60, phoned police for numerous bogus reasons including claiming neighbours were trying to poison her dog by throwing grapes over her garden hedge.
Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told she had pleaded guilty to 15 breaches of a court order banning her from calling 999 except in a genuine emergency and the police non-emergency 101 number.
Prosecutor Lala Small said she had abused and sworn at emergency call handlers after they failed to take her calls seriously.

Egglestone, of Spinney Close, Thorpe St Andrew, has twice been jailed previously for abusive calls to the police control room.
Maya Lal, mitigating, said after keeping a dog to help with her mental health irrational fears for it had seen her develop an “unhealthy relationship” with police.
Magistrates said the high number of breaches and her previous convictions for similar offences meant they had insufficient powers to sentence her.
She was given conditional bail to be sentenced at Norwich Crown Court on March 18.
