A retired dental receptionist died after undergoing an operation at a Norfolk hospital, a court has heard.
Anne Thacker, 66, of Market Manor, Acle, near Great Yarmouth, died on February 10 at the James Paget Hospital.
Her death came following an operation on her hip for a broken neck of femur on January 28.
An inquest into her death was opened by area coroner, Yvonne Blake, at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, based at County Hall in Norwich, on February 15.
The medical cause of death was given as decompensated alcoholic liver disease with a pulmonary emboli left fractured neck of femur, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Her son, Lee Thacker, confirmed via a statement to the court that his mother was born on August 17, 1957, in Ireland.
An inquest to determine the official cause of death will take place on August 22.
