A report is being prepared for the coroner by Norfolk police after a woman was found at her home with chest injuries.
The body of Barbara Lamb was discovered at her home by neighbours who had not seen her for “around a week”.
The 79-year-old of Gamecock Close in Old Catton, Norwich, was found on January 31.
Area coroner Samantha Goward said: “The circumstances are that Barbara Lamb had not been seen by her neighbours for around a week.
“They entered her house and sadly found her deceased on the floor of her bedroom.”
An inquest into her death was opened at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, based at County Hall, on February 13.
The medical cause of death was given by the pathologist as traumatic chest injury with essential hypotension (low blood pressure).
Mrs Lamb, who was born March 17, 1944, in London, was a homemaker.
The coroner has requested reports from Norfolk Constabulary, her GP, and next-of-kin.
An inquest to determine the official cause of death will take place on August 20.
