A woman whose death sparked a murder probe died as a result of compressions to the neck, a court has heard.
Tara Kershaw, of Great Yarmouth, died earlier this month, at the age of 33.
An inquest into her death opened on Monday and heard details of the medical cause of her death.
During the short hearing, area coroner Yvonne Blake said that a provisional medical cause was given by pathologists as "compressions to the neck".
Miss Kershaw died at her home address, in Princes Road in the town, on Saturday, January 20.
In a statement issued following her death her family said they were struggling to come to terms with their loss, describing her as a "beloved sister".
Adam Barnard, 40, and also of Princes Road, was arrested on the day of her death and has since been charged with her murder and has appeared in court in connection with the incident.
Ms Blake also confirmed Miss Kershaw was born in Great Yarmouth on March 30, 1990.
The coroner suspended the inquest due to proceedings in the criminal court.
