The highest taxpayers in East Anglia have been revealed in this year's Sunday Times Tax List.
It is the sixth edition of the list and features musicians, entrepreneurs, aristocrats and inventors from around the country who paid out a total of £5.35 billion in tax in 2023.
According to The Times, seven out of the top 100 largest taxpayers are based in the East and the youngest single taxpayer is Framlingham-based Ed Sheeran who paid £39.6 million last year.
But Sir Tim Martin, the owner of pub group JD Wetherspoon, is the top taxpayer in the region - forking out £167.1 million in the last 12 months.
He said it was "vitally important" that more companies reported all the taxes they paid so that "free enterprise may prosper" and "democratic societies can flourish".
Aeroplane ejection seat manufacturers James and John Martin were second on the list, paying £42.7 million overall, with the Marshall family at fourth with £34.8 million paid.

Sports promoter Eddie Hearn and his father Barry placed seventh on the list, paying a total of £18.4 million.
Combined, the top seven taxpayers in the East doled out £360 million to the exchequer.
Robert Watts, the compiler of The Sunday Times Tax List said: "The Tax List is a reflection of the state of our public finances and is sobering reading for all political parties in the run-up to the election."
