A Norfolk chippy has been announced as a top three finalist in the 'best of the best' category ahead of The National Fish and Chip Awards 2024 ceremony.
French's Fish Shop in Wells has been shortlisted for the National Federation of Fish Friers’ (NFFF) Quality Accreditation Champion Award.
It will go up against Henley’s of Wivenhoe in Essex and Mike’s Traditional Fish & Chips in Bishopstoke, Hampshire.

To be in with a chance of claiming the prestigious accolade, businesses first had to enrol in the NFFF's Fish & Chip Quality Accreditation Scheme.
Applicants are appraised against quality benchmarks, with those successfully passing the assessment and "the crispy batter-crunchy-but-fluffy chip taste tests" receiving the ‘Big Q’ Quality Accreditation sign.

The three finalists have now been invited to the awards ceremony on February 28 in London.
Andrew Crook, president of the NFFF, said: "The National Fish and Chip Awards is an important part of the industry to help facilitate improvements in standards across the board.
“The Quality Accreditation Champion category really is the best of the best."
