New plans for a home have been drawn up after a previous bid was turned down because it would overlook neighbouring properties.

A developer named in council papers as S Curtis has applied to build a bungalow on land where a water tower once stood in Hunstanton, at the junction of the main Cromer Road and Lincoln Street.

A planning statement says: "The proposal is now for a bungalow single storey dwelling – with a footprint that has been moved further into the north east corner as well as south, and now some four metres from the north boundary.

"Not only has the property been moved away from the north boundary but the height has been significantly reduced. Both measures therefore remove any concern of a negative impact on the neighbouring properties."

The statement describes the property as "a modestly-sized home with three bedrooms".

The tower, which stood on the site, was a well-known local landmark until it was demolished in the 1970s.
