A Norwich primary school was closed today after being broken into over the weekend.
George White Junior School in Silver Road was broken into and vandalised sometime between 11.30am and 7.30pm on Sunday.
An unknown number of people are believed to have entered multiple rooms and forced open lockers.
The school is shut for the whole day while police and forensics carry out an investigation and assess the full damage to the site.
Samantha Petchey, Partnership Head, said: "The trust and I were very sad to have to let parents and carers know that we had to close our school today due to what happened.
"We are doing everything possible to help support the police with their investigation.
"This is a very upsetting situation and we're working hard to welcome pupils back into the school tomorrow."
