Huge turnout at Sheringham New Year's Day Dip 2024

More than 400 brave souls took part in the Sheringham New Year's Day Dip at the East Promenade, with the daring dash into the North Sea at 12.30pm.

The event was organised by the Sheringham and Cromer Round Table, with 50pc of the money raised going to the local RNLI and the rest to other local causes.

As well as the 400 people taking the plunge, there were around 1,000 spectators who wrapped up warm to cheer on family members and friends.

There was also a fancy dress competition with prizes up for grabs for the best-dressed dippers.

Will Moy, Sheringham and Cromer Round Table chairman and co-organiser, said: "Events like this are so important because it brings the local community together, while also supporting fantastic local causes.

"It went brilliantly - the dip hasn't gone ahead since 2020 so it was fantastic to get the event back up and running."
