A manufacturer in Norfolk has been praised by the government for helping more than 20 local people back to work.
Jo Churchill, the UK’s minister for employment, visited Warren Services in Thetford last week to learn more about how the firm has leveraged its relationship with the local job centre to fill vacant roles.
The business, which manufactures specialist equipment and machinery for the construction industry, has employed more than 20 people through the centre in the past two years, providing a catalogue of free training to job seekers looking to enter the industry.
Ms Churchill said the firm’s work with the job centre was the perfect example of how employers can utilise the service to expand its team.
She added: “Warren Services have offered countless opportunities to job seekers in Norfolk for over a decade through their partnership with the job centre.
“Manufacturing is an exciting sector which offers fantastic upskilling and progression opportunities.
“I strongly encourage job seekers to explore the opportunities on offer, and businesses looking to recruit specialist roles, to reach out to their local job centre.”
