Two men have been arrested after an attack in Great Yarmouth which left another man in a critical condition.

Police were called to reports of a man being assaulted in Regent Road at 12.07pm on Friday.

A man in his 50s was taken to James Paget Hospital with life-threatening injuries before being transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where he remains in a critical condition.

A man in his 20s and a man in his 30s have been arrested on suspicion of GBH. They have been taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where they remain.

Police cordons have been put up in Malakoff Close, Ordnance Road and Russell Road whilst officers investigate the area.
