Fish and chip shops around Norfolk have had a busy year with many winning awards and gaining national recognition among the best in the country.
Here are five fish and chip shops from Hunstanton, Norwich, Wells-next-the-Sea and Cromer that have received national praise in 2023.
1. Henry's of Hunstanton
Where: The Green, Hunstanton, PE36 5AH
The Hunstanton chip shop was named as a finalist in the restaurant category at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.
Henry's was named as third-best in the country in March after opening in July 2019.

2. French's in Wells-next-the-Sea
Where: 10 The Quayside, Wells-next-the-Sea, NR23 1AH
The popular seafront shop French's was one of 40 takeaways listed in the Fish and Chip Takeaway of the Year 2024 awards.
The family-owned business in Wells-next-the-Sea was also included in Fry Magazine's top 50 fish and chip shops in the UK.
3. Chish and Fips in Norwich
Where: 53 Angel Rd, Norwich NR3 3HR
Recognised for its quality, service and value, Chish and Fips was awarded the highly revered gold seal award in the Good Food Awards 2024.
The chippy in Angel Road has won a Good Food Award six years in a row and is currently offering battered pigs in blankets over Christmas.
4. Eric's Fish and Chips in Hunstanton
Where: Drove Orchards, Thornham Road, Hunstanton, PE36 6LS
Another Hunstanton favourite, Eric's Fish and Chips reached the final round of the National Fish and Chip Awards last month.
It is one of five left in the running for the Restaurant of the Year prize and the winner will be announced in February.

5. No1 Cromer
Where: 1 New Street, Cromer, NR27 9HP
The 'posh' chip shop run by Michelin-starred chef Galton Blackiston was included in a list of the best in the country by the BBC Good Food.
It was praised for its twists on the takeaway classic including a king prawn Goan curry as well as soy and ginger-marinated whitebait with aioli dip.
