Essential roof repairs have been carried out at a Great Yarmouth shopping centre.
One hundred glazed rooflights and 1,800 sq ft of roof coverings have been replaced at Market Gates Shopping Centre.
Following years of exposure to the elements, the roof of the main entrance had begun to deteriorate. Splits and cracks had caused persistent leaks at the shopping centre.
Roche Chartered Surveyors have been undertaking the repair project.
Since September,Completed on time and under budget, the repairs have allowed the centre to hang decorations in time for Christmas.
Sam Freakley, building surveyor at Roche, said: "This was a complex and challenging project due to the need to ensure the safety of people in the shopping mall whilst replacing glazing and roof coverings overhead.
"However, it was completed efficiently and to a high standard – largely down to well-planned and detailed work specifications and effective management of the project team.
"These essential repairs at Market Gates were a great success and will provide many years of use for the centre."
