A primary school has kept its ‘good’ rating across the board in its first inspection since joining an academy trust.
Staff and children at Caston Church of England Primary Academy celebrated its Ofsted report which has been recognised as ‘good’ in November.
The school joined the Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust in 2020.
Sarah Disney, Executive Headteacher of the school, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of my staff. The ‘good’ mark shows the inspectors’ recognition of the sustained drive and outstanding commitment that I see every day in classrooms, on the playground and across our school community.”
The report highlighted the school is welcoming and has high ambitions for pupils’ academic and social development with a focus on being inclusive, tolerant, good behaviour and reading.
The report did highlight that many teachers are new to the school and have not yet fully established routines and expectations for behaviour. Adding, the school should continue to help teachers establish routines and expectations that minimise further disruption to pupils’ learning.”
Oliver Burwood, CEO of Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust, added: “As a trust, we are proud that we have a strong track record in supporting small schools across Norfolk to find success.”
