Children at a Suffolk school have 'run' all the way to Monaco to help raise funds for colourful creations in their sports hall.

The pupils at Woods Loke Primary School at Oulton Broad, Lowestoft have taken part in a week long Santa Dash to raise money for murals in their sports hall.

It is estimated the pupils ran the equivalent of running to Monaco as they covered 665 miles.

Ryan Hunt, PE teacher and sports coach at the school said: "We’ve been fundraising the last week to get a mural for the sports hall.

"The children have been taking part in a Santa Dash by completing laps on the field in Christmas hats.

"We’ve estimated seven to eight laps round the field is one mile and over the whole week we’ve managed 665 miles, which we’ve worked out it's from here to Monaco.

"We are also using the other money to donate towards a charity."

The murals features all kinds of sports, such as football, boxing, javelin throwing and basketball.
