Plans have been revealed for 13 new homes on the fringe of a major development.

Developer Construct Reason has applied to build two and three-bedroom properties on land off Ellerby Drive, at Wisbech.

The site was originally intended as open space alongside a development of 145 new homes which have now been built.

But a planning statement says a nearby parcel of land can now serve as open space instead, because the flats which were planned to be built on it are no longer viable.

It adds the land now proposed for homes, which is around a mile from the centre of Wisbech, "is currently overgrown and has no particular use".

It says: "The proposal will form a natural extension to the existing residential development within the area."

Each new property will have a garage and garden. A decision is expected next year.
