A burglar who stole a charity box after breaking into a Norwich cafe has been told he faces being sent to prison.
Max Gannon was already serving a six-month suspended jail sentence when he broke into Cafe 193 on Plumstead Road in Heartsease on October 8.
Prosecutor Danielle O’Donovan said police had been called after the cafe manager discovered it had been burgled and several items were missing, including the till and a jar used to collect charity donations.

Appearing before Norwich Crown Court the 22-year-old, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to burglary and criminal damage to the New Golden House Chinese takeaway located next door to the cafe.
He also admitted escaping from lawful custody and two charges of breaching his 18-month suspended sentence order and failing to comply with probation requirements.
Judge Katharine Moore told him: “Your offending breaches your suspended sentence and it is likely to lead to the activation of a period of imprisonment.”
He will be sentenced on January 5.
Rob Pollington, mitigating, said: “He is realistic about his likely fate.”
