A 30-year-old took his own life following an "intoxicated argument" with his girlfriend after a wedding party.
Nicholas Daly, known as Nick, had been visiting Norwich for the nuptials with Lilly Moore, as well as his brother and brother's partner.
At an inquest into his death, Norfolk Coroner's Court was told that the pair had returned to the Town House during the early hours of the morning on May 7.
Sometime around 1am, the pair began arguing in their room at the hotel on Yarmouth Road.
In a statement read out to the court, Miss Moore said: “Nick was very drunk, and I was getting annoyed as I thought he was a bit of a mess.
“I continued telling Nick that he was too drunk and a mess, so I told him I was leaving and driving home. I packed all of my stuff, and nothing was said.
“I left with my bags, got into my car, and drove off towards home.
“I did not think he would do anything like this.”
Shorty after, she decided to return to the hotel and found Mr Daly unconscious.
She added: “I called 999 for help and broke down on the phone.”
Miss Moore began to perform CPR but Mr Daly was declared dead by paramedics at 2.35am.
Evidence read out revealed that Mr Daly, an analyst from Watford, previously suffered with anxiety and depression but had not expressed any mental ill health concerns since 2017.
A toxicology report found he had drunk alcohol and took cocaine before his death, the combination of which was “likely to have impaired cognition.”
Assistant coroner, Christopher Leach recorded a brief narrative conclusion and said: “Nicholas John Daly died as a result of his own actions."
“His intention at the time of doing the act is unknown.”
The medical cause of death was given as hanging.
