A parking row has forced the owners of a popular Norfolk pub to send out a warning to customers after some have been hit with £100 charges.
The owners of The Recruiting Sergeant in Horstead have urged customers not to park opposite the pub when its car park is full.
Pub-goers used to park over the road outside other businesses when there was no space in the busy pub’s car park.
However, it has now become a pay and display car park, with cameras and signs put up warning of a £100 parking charge.

“We would like to make our lovely customers aware that the land opposite us is not associated with the pub,” The Recruiting Sergeant posted on social media.
“We know that many of you have parked there over the years, but sadly there are now cameras and parking charges in place, so please do not park there without paying the fee to do so.
“Unfortunately, a few customers have already received fines of £100.
“Thank you for your continued support.”

The new Norwich Road pay and stay car park is operated by Bransby Wilson Parking Solutions.
The car park is open 24-hours, seven days a week, with 30 minutes free parking between the 8am and 6pm, or £2 per hour at all times.
