Plans for a new lido could "future proof" a town's tourism industry, but there are questions over how it might be paid for and its environmental impact.
Studies have been carried out into the environmental impacts of building a marine lake off the seafront at Hunstanton, along with the possible costs of the scheme.
They were commissioned by the Hunstanton Advisory Group (HAG), which is made up of councillors, business owners and the town's civic society.
Minutes of its latest meeting say: "There is a strong strategic case with some levels of economic viability.
"To some extent it would future proof Hunstanton’s tourism industry. The raising of the capital would be the most challenging part."
HAG chairman Charles le Strange Meakin said: "The HAG is in receipt of draft reports considering the feasibility of re-establishing a lido in the town.
"The first report looks at the costs of building and running a lido. It will help us decide whether a Lido could be sufficiently profitable to fund its building cost and ongoing maintenance.
"As building a lido would impact on an area of beach and mudflat it’s also necessary to determine what environmental factors would need to be addressed."

A seafront lido with slides and diving boards was once one of Hunstanton's top attractions.
Generations of visitors and locals took a dip in the Blue Lagoon's waters after it was built in 1927.
But the plug was pulled in 1967 to make way for a new indoor leisure dome.
After the original project stalled amid a shake-up of local government, the site eventually became home to the Oasis Leisure Centre, which opened in 1984.
Minutes say a new lido could be tied in with the refurbishment of the oasis but "the economic implications of this need to be considered".
