An indoor car boot is set to be the last held at a town hall.
Dereham Lions Club will host a car boot at the Dereham Memorial Hall on Sunday, December 3 and are expecting 25 stalls and a separate craft fair.
Donna Palmer, fundraising team member, said running the event at the Norwich Road venue was no longer viable due to rising hire costs.
Mrs Palmer said: “We would love to stay at the hall because it is a prime position, and there is nowhere else in the location of Dereham which has the space to hold car boots.
“If any halls have the space to host a car boot, please get in contact with us and maybe we could work something out.”
The hire price was increased by 5pc in April 2023 and it costs the charity £91.40 for four hours.
The town council said the Lions were charged at a charity rate, and they also got a 10pc discount on top of that because of their ongoing booking.
The Lions Club raises funds to help locals, and makes donations to help fund things like a trip to Kenya for Neatherd High School students next year.
Mrs Palmer said the group has been holding car boots in the area for the last 20 years, with the memorial hall being its home for the last three.
She said: “We would like to thank everyone who has supported a car boot over the last 20 years.
“We would like to find somewhere else or find an agreement with the memorial hall. It seems like there is not another space this viable in the Dereham area, but we hope we can find something else.
“I am still looking around, but it all comes down to costs, there is no point if we do not have the footfall as it has to be viable for the sellers as well.”
The final car boot will take place from 8.30am to midday.
