An inquest has opened into the death of a cyclist who was killed in a crash close to Norfolk's biggest hospital.
Edward Cooke was cycling along the B1108 Watton Road at Colney, close to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital when he was involved in a crash with a black Mercedes.
Mr Cooke, who was 55 and lived in Hethersett, died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries suffered in the crash.
During a short hearing at Norfolk Coroner's Court, senior coroner Jacqueline Lake confirmed Mr Cooke was born in Newham in London and was employed as a fitter and plumber.
The incident happened at around 5.10am on Thursday, November 9 and saw three men arrested.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving and perverting the course of justice.
Two other men who were also in the Mercedes were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.
The inquest was adjourned for a preliminary hearing, which will be held on February 22.
