A hospital on the coast will buy a new ultrasound scanner after a £3,000 donation.
The committee of Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Great Yarmouth presented the money to the Ward 3 team at the James Paget University Hospital following their Greek Night Dinner Dance that took place at the Ocean Room in Gorleston in October.
Around 500 people attended the evening and the money raised for the James Paget will go towards the purchase of an ultrasound scanner for Ward 3.
It will be used to assist with a range of procedures including Ascitic tap and drain procedures, cannulation, and paracentesis.
The James Paget was chosen to benefit by Andreas Georgiou who had a stay in the ward and saw that they needed to bring in a machine from another area to carry out procedures.
The money will allow the team to purchase their own device.

On Tuesday, November 14, representatives from the church visited the hospital to formally hand over the cheque to our Ward 3 team.
Maxine Taylor, James Paget Hospital charity manager, said: “We’d like to thank Andreas, the team behind the event and all those who attended and supported the night.
"This will make a real difference to Ward 3, who will now be able to purchase the ultrasound scanner, and it will benefit patients undergoing these procedures.
"Thank you to everyone involved."

In August, the Department of Health and Social Care agreed to funding of £17m for an Orthopaedic Elective Hub at the Gorleston-based hospital.
This will allow staff to provide 1,400 extra theatre sessions per year.
The hospital, meanwhile, is also bringing back staff car park fees after they were waived during the Covid pandemic.
