Norfolk is home to countless top-quality independent shops and each one has something unique to offer its customers.
But which stores have stood out the most?
Here are seven of the most beloved Norfolk shops of all time, according to you.
1. Roys
Roys is a family-run department store with locations across Norfolk and Suffolk.
Its first venue opened in Coltishall in 1895 by brothers Alfred and Arnold Roy.
The company is now based in Wroxham where there are five Roys stores including a DIY centre, a food hall and a toy shop.
More Roys department stores can be found in North Walsham, Norwich, Thetford, Dereham, Beccles and Sudbury.
2. Jarrolds
Jarrolds was founded in Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1770 but has become one of Norfolk’s most recognisable stores.
The business has been passed down seven generations of family ownership in its 250 years.
The main department store sits in London Road in Norwich but smaller shops can be found in Cromer and Wymondham.

3. Blyth and Wright
Blyth and Wright was established as an ironmongers in 1897 but has since expanded into a department store that also sells china, crafts, DIY goods, homeware and gardenware.
Although the goods on offer have changed, the store prides itself on providing “a good old-fashioned service” to customers.
It is located at 36-40 Station Road in Sheringham.
4. Bakers and Larners
Bakers and Larners has sat in the heart of Holt since 1770 and has been passed down through nine generations of the Baker family since its launch.
Before becoming a multifaceted department store, it experimented with being a blacksmith, a brewer, a builder’s merchant, a plumbers and an ironmonger.
Its furniture and food hall are particularly loved by its customers.
It can still be found at 8-10 Market Place in Holt.
5. Head in the Clouds
This quirky family-run boutique opened in Norwich in 1971.
It credits its character to being a product of the 1970s hippie movement, selling everything from art supplies and unique clothing to homeware, hair care and spiritual tools.
Head in the Clouds can be found nestled in the Norwich Lanes at 13 Pottergate.
6. Starlings Toys
Starlings is an independent toy store that was founded in Sheringham in 1912.
It has since expanded to Holt, Dereham, Bury St Edmunds and Spalding in Lincolnshire.
Starlings offer a vast range of toys, games, crafts, beach tools, and American sweets, bringing the entire family together with something fun for everyone.
The original Starlings store can be found at 31-33 High Street in Sheringham.
7. Archer's Butchers
This butcher shop is almost 100 years old, being founded in 1929.
Running from 179 Plumstead Road in Norwich, the shop specialises in local free-range meats and provides top-quality expert advice on its products.
Archer's also offers delicious takeaway baguettes and pastries and event catering with hog roasts and buffet food.
