A chef from Norfolk will appear on MasterChef: The Professionals tonight.
Dan Herbert is a 32-year-old senior sous chef who currently works at The Harper Hotel in Langham.
He has had roles in a variety of AA Rosette and Michelin-starred kitchens throughout his career, including The Neptune in Old Hunstanton and Congham Hall in King's Lynn.
Mr Herbert said he applied to MasterChef: The Professionals to push himself out of his comfort zone.
"It’s important as a chef to constantly learn and pushing yourself in a competition is a good way of doing that," he said. "I want to give this my best shot.”
He said he discovered his love of cooking when he was 15 and got his first job in a local cafe.
He explained: "The owner saw something in me and put me through catering college.
"In 2011 I moved to Australia and that’s where my love of cooking really stepped up a gear."
Mr Herbert said he loves cooking because he likes taking simple ingredients and experimenting with them to turn them into "something unreal".

Outside of cooking, he is a big football fan who likes going to watch his local team, Cromer, play.
The chef also enjoys going to the gym, eating out and getting tattoos.
He has one under-the-sea-themed arm and the other is space and Star Wars-themed.
He, of course, has some food-themed tattoos including fruit, veg and a Cornish pasty.
Watch him compete in the first heat of week three of MasterChef: The Professionals tonight at 9pm on BBC One and BBCiPlayer.
