A car crash on the A47 caused heavy traffic in both directions between Dereham and Norwich.
The accident happened on the main road near Hockering around 5pm.
A witness said it appeared a car had gone across the road and into a hedge.
Reports said that traffic heading to Norwich was diverted through Hockering, while traffic heading towards Dereham was slow moving.
Emergency services were also on the scene and the road has now cleared.
