TV adventurer Bear Grylls is bringing a huge family festival to a Norfolk estate and it will feature chart-topping musicians.

Gone Wild is launching at the Holkham Estate, near Wells-next-the-Sea, in 2024 and it will run across four days from Thursday, August 8 until Sunday, August 11.

This new second location for the festival follows its sell-out success at Powderham Castle in Devon, which was attended by more than 10,000 people in 2023.

Co-founded by Bear Grylls and former Royal Marines Officer Oli Mason, the festival will provide an action-packed adventure across four days.

More than 100 activities are included in the ticket price, including abseiling, break dance workshops and raft building.

The headline acts announced so far for Holkham are Example, Sam Ryder, Reef, Scouting for Girls and McFly.

Bear Grylls said: “It has always been our ambition to open a second UK site and I am so excited to announce that Holkham Park will become our East of England home.

"It is set in thousands of acres of parkland close to the coast, with deer, mighty oaks, a walled garden and stunning views.

"It is a perfect formula that allows us to provide amazing experiences on land and on water.

"There is a reason Gone Wild is the UK’s fastest-growing family festival - where else can you learn how to light fires, go climbing, throw your mum down a 50-foot mud slide, then party together while watching great bands?”

Kayla Dunne, brand director at Visit North Norfolk, said: “Gone Wild is one of the UK’s gold standard festivals for families.

"Securing it for North Norfolk is fantastic news both for the local economy and for local businesses."

A four-day pass, including basic camping, can be booked from £199 at norfolk.gonewildfestival.com, with day tickets and glamping options also available.

Families can book an 'under-18s go free’ early-bird ticket up until the end of November with a paying adult.
