Fishing is a hugely popular pastime in Norfolk, so we decided to ask our social media followers where the best spots are.
These were the most popular answers when we asked for suggestions of the best fishing lakes in the county (in no particular order).
1. Litcham Lakes and Lodges
Where: Bridge Farm, Dereham Road, Litcham, PE32 2RN
Located between Dereham and Swaffham, Litcham Lakes and Lodges is centered around two coarse fishing lakes, which are both used for matches, and the varieties include carp, tench and roach.
Next year, they will reopen the two self-catering lodges after a refurbishment.

2. East Bilney Lakes
Where: East Bilney, Dereham, NR20 4AL
East Bilney Lakes was a very popular answer and it boasts four lakes and three stock ponds.
It opened in 2022 and it is also home to the fantastic Kitchen Café, which serves a hearty full English to tuck into before a day of fishing.
3. Dilham Fishery
Where: Chapel Road, Dilham, NR28 9PZ
The 2.5-acre Dilham Fishery site features a 0.75-acre lake, stocked with rudd, carp and roach, 19 swims and a boat ramp.
Robbie Jackson commented on our post: "I like Dilham, it is only a small lake but it is always a good day's fishing."

4. Billingford Fishing Lakes
Where: North Elmham Road, Billingford, Dereham, NR20 4RG
This picturesque spot for fishing is surrounded by wildlife and there are more than 100 pegs available, with parking next to the swims.
The 150-acre site incorporates a one-mile stretch of the River Wensum and there are 11 different lakes and ponds.
Earlier this year, Billingford Lakes opened three nature walks to the public and the Lakeside Café serves breakfast, burgers, loaded fries, cakes and drinks.
5. Fendick's Fishery
Where: Methwold Road, Whittington, PE33 9GP
Located near Downham Market, Fendick's Fishery boasts five well-stocked lakes, which are set within a mature woodland area.
All lakes have a good variety of fish, including carp, catfish, tench and silverfish, and there are also log cabins and shepherd's huts at the site.

6. Shallowbrook Lakes
Where: Townhouse Road, Costessey, NR5 0LA
Located on the outskirts of Norwich, this popular site has four lakes suitable for all levels of fishing - from beginners to experienced anglers.
The carp lake holds stock of up to 30lb and you can find the likes of tench and perch in the other lakes.
7. Coston Lakes
Where: Church Lane, Coston, NR9 4DT
Located between Dereham and Wymondham, you need to book in advance to fish and visit Coston Lakes.
There is a 14-swim lake full of carp weighing between 15lb and 39lb, with a mix of commons, mirrors and several ghosties, and there is a cabin with a toilet, shower, microwave and fridge.
