Norfolk businesses are owed a total of nearly £500,000 by collapsed retail giant Wilko, it can be revealed.
The discount chain, which closed its last Norfolk store on St Stephens Street in Norwich last week, owes businesses in the county a total of £449,382, according to Wilko's statement of affairs.
Three companies are affected.
Thetford-based pest control manufacturer - STV International - is owed £262,585 by Wilko. While Kings Lynn-based commercial refrigeration manufacturer - Foster Refrigerator - is owed £185,210.
Wilko also owes £1,587 to furniture maker Norfolk Leisure Lifestyle, based in Kings Lynn.
The firms are three of hundreds of businesses that are owed money by the company, which confirmed it owes a total of £157,261,588 to its trade creditors.
The firm closed all 400 of its UK stores after rescue talks with potential suitors failed, with almost all of its 12,500 workers losing their jobs.
Administrators for the company at PwC blamed “cashflow pressure and a deterioration in trading” for the company’s downfall.
