A woman who lost three members of her family when a drug driver ploughed into their car is calling for the man who killed them to be given life.

Summer Mace lost her mother Lisa Carter, 49, her step-father Paul Carter, 41 and her sister Jade, 25, in the collision on the A47 near King's Lynn in January.

Aurelijus Cielevicius, 39, from King's Lynn, was jailed for 10 and a half years in June after he admitted three counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

Crash investigators said his BMW was travelling at more than 90mph when it collided head-on with the Vauxhall Mocha the three victims were travelling in.

The maximum the judge could have Cielevicius, who was high on drugs at the time of the crash, was life.

But an appeal on grounds his sentence was too lenient has been thrown out.

"After all, what does it take to get life imprisonment?

"The criminal justice system is broken and needs fixing. I demand a thorough review of all evidence related to this case that I feel was previously not looked at or disregarded during the initial appeal screening process."

Miss Mace added: "My family were given a life sentence the day that man killed my loved ones. A life sentence that I will never be released from.

"I will never get my family back, but I will do everything that I can to help make a change to prevent any other families from experiencing the nightmare that both myself and my family have experienced, as well as continuing to fight for actual justice for my family."
