A couple from north Norfolk have launched a homemade Indian takeaway service using recipes passed through generations.

Vishal Gohel and Jane Money, who live in Wells-next-the-Sea, started 'The Jolly Indian Sailor' delivery service at the beginning of September.

Mr Gohel learned how to cook Gujarati dishes from family members in his youth and his love for food has followed him into his professional life - he has been working as a private chef for the past year.

Jane Money said: "A huge part of Vishal’s skill and technique comes from his upbringing in a busy family home where cooking was a family affair.

“Gujarati cuisine is aromatic and delicate in its taste, there’s a lot of heat and spice but it’s not overpowering.

"We’re excited for people to try the healthy and vibrant flavours in our food."

The menu has a selection of four vegetarian dishes that will change each week.

Next week will feature kachoris and samosas with chutney, spiced broccoli, panakhara shaak - a rich autumnal curry made with butternut squash - and a tin of seasoned basmati rice.

Eastern Daily Press:

The heart of their business centres around sustainability and every delivery will be packaged in tiffin tins to avoid plastic waste.

Its 'Tiffin for Two' costs £40 including the delivery price.
