A bus firm is running additional services in and around Norwich as roadworks on key routes continue to cause disruption.

In a bid to keep services running smoothly, First Bus has introduced two more Red Line buses that will take diversions around the works in Norwich Road in Costessey, making use of Kabin Road, Hawthorn Road and Hill Road.

As well as Norwich Road, works in upper Magdalen Street and Longwater Lane continue to restrict traffic in and out of the city centre.

The additional buses will be running for the next month.

A First East spokeswoman said: "I can confirm that we are adding two additional buses to the Red Line timetable.

"This is to assist with keeping the service running on time due to the negative impact that a number of roadworks are having on this route.

"The additional buses will be in place temporarily for a period of four weeks while we work on a permanent change."
