An animal rescue centre in Norfolk has launched a desperate appeal after being inundated with unwanted pets amid the continuing cost of living crisis.
East Coast Pet Rescue in Great Yarmouth has released an urgent plea to the public as it has 20 rabbits and cats needing to be adopted at the centre which is now completely full.
Among the cats waiting to find a stable and loving home are Sweet Pea and Dandelion who have spent their whole lives in and out of catteries and have never had a chance to live in a space of their own.

Whitney, a four-year-old cat, is also looking for a home after she was brought to the centre in a horrific condition from living on the streets.
Debra Cook, manager of East Coast Pet Rescue, said: "Lots of smaller animals are being surrendered due to the cost of living and people not being able to afford to look after them.

"Many people do not realise what it takes to look after rabbits properly, they are one of the most neglected species sadly."
