A dog that was kept in overcrowded conditions and hit repeatedly by her owner is now hoping to get a new chance at life after being taken in by a rescue charity.
Tilly, a one-year-old Dachshund cross, was brought over to the UK after she was rescued in Romania.
She was kept in a small 'hoarders' house with many other dogs, where she was forced to compete for food and attention and was shouted at and hit with a household broom.

Although she is now a "shy and submissive dog" due to her traumatic start to life, she is described as a "sweet and affectionate" girl who is desperate for a patient owner to help her learn to trust again.
Safe Rescue for Dogs, a Norfolk-based charity, has now rescued her and she is being fostered in a home in Norwich.
If you would like to adopt Tilly or one of the other dogs in the care of Safe Rescue for Dogs you can do so by contacting the charity at 07788 251197 or emailing saferescue@hotmail.co.uk.
