Firms of different sizes, sectors and types will be recognised at the event, which takes place at the Norfolk Showground on Thursday, November 23.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on September 27, which has had record entries this year, and the addition of Tom as host will only add to the excitement.

His Absolutely tour was extended multiple times, selling more than 50,000 tickets, including an unforgettable sold-out show at The London Palladium which was filmed and broadcast on Channel 4.

Victoria Bennett, EDP's director of events and projects, said: “We are thrilled to have Tom Allen hosting the EDP Business Awards this year.

“He will bring his sparkling personality and humour to the event and we can’t wait for his stand-up routine that will kick off proceedings. A night not to miss for sure.”

This year the theme of the awards is the 'heroes that keep our businesses running' - the team members that are the difference between success and failure.

EDP editor Richard Porritt said: “There is one key factor that joins every successful enterprise from the second the firm is first formed to the moment the team climbs on stage to celebrate being crowned Business of the Year – the people.

“Without the right people, a firm will quickly lose ground. Without the right people, a business will quickly begin to show the cracks. Find the right people, and the whole project will likely flourish.

“We want to toast the driving force, the engine room, the turbo boosters that make our very best businesses tick.”
