A 90-year-old former vicar is 13 days and more than halfway through an epic 1,100-mile cycle journey across the entire length of the UK.
Peter Langford, from Beccles, is in the Manchester area, having set off from Land’s End in Cornwall to John O’Groats in Scotland on August 22.
Although he suffers from arthritic knees, which sometimes make walking difficult, it is not stopping him - as Mr Langford said he feels 30 years younger on a bike.
With three children and six grandchildren, Mr Langford has spent months training for the iconic end-to-end challenge, admitting: "Cycling makes me 30 years younger."
Mr Langford has raised £24,000, at the time of writing, which is just shy of half of his £50,000 target to be split and donated between Lowestoft-based regional charity Access Community Trust and the Salvation Army.
As the crow flies, the retired vicar has roughly 360 miles to go, the road distance is 484.6 miles from Manchester to the UK's highest point in Scotland.

Remarkably this is will be the fourth time Mr Langford has done the journey having previously completed it aged 75, when he was 80 and again aged 85 – raising almost £60,000 in the process.

Ahead of setting off in his most recent mission, Mr Langford said: "Reflecting on my life so far, I am truly thankful that I have not had to worry too much about money, my health, or a roof over my head, but times have changed significantly from when I was young.
"Today, there are so many people and families struggling with the bare basics.
"If I can raise awareness of the cause and my supporters donate what they can.
"Together we can make a real difference to many people’s lives."
