A town's tennis week which had previously been overshadowed by anti-social behaviour off-court passed off peacefully after police stepped up patrols.
Extra officers were drafted in for the week-long Hunstanton Lawn Tennis Tournament, after last year's event saw gangs of youths gathering in surrounding villages.
People living in Brancaster claimed they were under siege from drunken teenagers.
But this year, Norfolk police received just two calls reporting anti-social behaviour during the tournament, which ended on August 26.
Insp Howard Elvidge, local policing inspector for Hunstanton, said: "We brought in extra resources for Tennis Week this year, to ensure that disruption for local people and visitors was kept to a minimum.
"While there was still the odd minor issue we worked hard to be firm and fair with those causing problems.
"We’ve had lots of positive feedback from people living in the coastal villages saying they were pleased to see an increased police presence and that the work we did was having an impact."
Tournament organisers also appealed to parents of young players to ensure they behaved in the evenings, describing last year's scenes as "unacceptable".
Up to 1,000 take part in an event dubbed Wimbledon-on-Sea.
Insp Elvidge said as well as "extensive patrols" of Hunstanton and surrounding villages, officers also seized alcohol from young people and ensured they stayed safe around the roads and beaches.
He added plans for a similar operation were being drawn up for next year's tournament.
“We will work closely with event organisers, as well as borough and parish councils, again next year to make sure that people understand what is and isn’t acceptable,” he said.
