A prominent play area in a market town has been transformed after refurbishment.
With work starting around two-and-a-half months ago, the new-look children's play area at Beccles Common was officially reopened on Friday, August 11.
Aimed at toddlers and juniors the new play area has been designed by eibe play Ltd as it features a basket swing, cradle swing for toddlers, a me-to-you swing, a cargo climbing net, a toddler climbing unit with slide, and a junior climbing unit with a climbing wall and slide.
The refurbishment was made possible thanks to a partnership between East Suffolk Council and Beccles Town Council.
At an official opening, attended by representatives from both councils, East Suffolk Services Ltd, and eibe play Ltd, there was delight as the "wonderful" new facilities were unveiled.
With Beccles having had several upgrades to play and open areas in the last few years, Katie Graham, East Suffolk Council's cabinet member for communities, leisure and tourism, said: "This is a wonderful new facility providing modern, fun and engaging equipment for local families and visitors to enjoy.
"I’m delighted to see the final transformation and am sure this will continue to be popular play area for years to come."
Christine Wheeler, mayor of Beccles, said: "I'm delighted that this example of the two councils working together has resulted in such a lovely facility for Beccles families."
Robyn Brookes, playground consultant at eibe play Ltd, said: "The whole team at eibe thoroughly enjoyed working on your playground project for Beccles Common and are looking forward to seeing children using your new play equipment following its opening."
