A convoy of 98 lorries will be taking Norfolk children on a fun day out as one of the regions's favourite summertime events returns.
From 10am on Sunday, August 27, the East Coast Truckers Children's Charity will be setting off on its 36th annual convoy from Norwich to Pleasurewood Hills, Lowestoft.
After spending the afternoon at the theme park, the truckers will head back to Norwich via Gt Yarmouth seafront, each chauffering a disabled or disadvantaged child to sit up high in the cab.
The convoy will return to Norwich at about 7.30pm.
The police will escort the convoy along the route, allowing them to travel through red lights, roundabouts and junctions.
Teams from the emergency services will also be part of the convoy onboard two coaches.
Supporters are expected to be out in droves along the route, clapping and waving at the children and the truckers.
Event organiser Trevor Howlett said: "This is a very special day for these children. To see the expression on their faces when they are sitting here in the truck is amazing.
"While travelling the route, especially along Gt Yarmouth seafront, there won't be a driver without a tear in his eye."
