A transport users group in Great Yarmouth has welcomed the reopening of a Norwich Park and Ride service.
Norwich’s Postwick Park and Ride is reopening in September on a trial basis for at least four months.
The Park and Ride had been closed since the start of the pandemic, while it was used as a Covid testing centre. The area's other Park and Ride services opened last June, while Postwick remained closed.
The East Norfolk Transport Users Association (ENTUA) has welcomed Norfolk County Council's decision to resume the 552-parking place site after pressure from parish councils and the public.
An ENTUA spokesperson said: "This is good news for those who are driving from the east of the county and do not wish to drive into the centre of Norwich, especially with the announcement that fares from the Park and Ride sites were being reduced from the same date."
The council says it will cost up to £250,000 a year to run the Postwick Park and Ride service, and Graham Plant, the cabinet member for highways, transport and infrastructure, warned: "This really is a case of use it or lose it."
